Finally, after years of internet marketing research and studies, I gain the courage to start this blog. Strangely enough I feel that I know a lot, yet I don’t know much. But it is rather incredible that I only started my blog now – Doing simple stuff that I should have done long ago.
Well, for most things in life, the first time is almost always the hardest. But it just gets better along the way with consistent practice and improvement. In this post, I would like to discuss with you what stopped me from taking action the first time. You might be able to relate to it too.
I believe the number 1 killer that stop us in our track, unable to move forward is the Fear of Failure. Sometimes people would say that “if you don’t try, you’ll never fail”. I say “you will always fail if you don’t try”.
Do you agree that the phrase “I don’t know” is more commonly used than “I’ll try” in almost every aspect of life, well at least the people in my life are. But, of course I believe we seldom talk to our boss that way.
Fear of Success – “If I become successful, how long can it last?” The answer is nobody knows, the future is full of uncertainty and change is the only constant in this world. If you don’t choose the path of your life, most likely you’ll end up somewhere where you don’t like. Your everyday decisions shape the life that you are having.
Some times I feel that I have endless topics that I can say about productivity and improving our lives, and yet I worried about what should I blog about today and what content structure and sequence shall I formed. Well, I just have to reframe the situation to this is my blog, I’ll make all the decisions and I can only get better.
Side note: I would love to hear from your constructive feedback too.
There are other fears like fear of rejection, fear of unknown, fear of love or losing love, fear of isolation/alienation, etc, which I will cover more in depth in future.
The first thing that I need you to understand at this point of time is that:
You must have the belief that you can do whatever you set to do, no matter where or what you have been through. And You’ll get better with consistent action and improvement.
“What lies before us, what lies behind us, is nothing compared to what lies within us”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
Back to the topic of first time, do you still remember when was the last time you did something for the first time?
P.S. Today is a good day to try something new…
